Rental Policy

  • Rates are based on maximum occupancy; and vary by season and length of stay.
  • Maximum occupancy for Strathcona Cottage is 5 people
    including children and The Lake House is 2 people.
  • Pets are NOT allowed.
  • People, other than those listed in the rental agreement, may not stay overnight in the property and any other person on the property is the sole responsibility of the guests.
  • All of the units are privately owned.  The owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs on the premises or its facilities.  The owners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guests.  At the acceptance of a reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.
  • Guests shall not incur damage to owner’s property, if damage should occur the owner has right to seek compensation for damages.
  • Water and Septic:  Strathcona cottage is on well water and both cottages have septic systems. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog if improper materials are flushed into it.  Do NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper.  No feminine products should be flushed at anytime.  If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and have clogged the septic system, the renters will be charge the cost of fixing the system (including lost revenue while the cottage is out of commission). To assist our septic system, natural cleaning products will be provided and antibacterial soaps are not to be used.
  • Housekeeping:  Daily housekeeping service is not provided.  Linens and bath towels are included in the unit but are not to be taken out of the unit. Beach towels will be provided.
  • A security deposit of no more than $650 may be required. Refundable if the property is left in good condition.
  • Property must be left in the condition it was found upon checking in, this includes, leaving the BBQ after each use, carpets, oven etc. If necessary, an additional nominal cleaning fee will be charged upon departure.
  • No fires in the outside fire pit.
  • 50% of rent is required immediately upon booking and the balance is payable 30 days prior to check in.
  • Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to your reservation date will result in a forfeited deposit if the property cannot be re-rented.
  • Smoking is permitted only outside the cottages, ashtrays are provided.
  • Payment by cash, PayPal (all credit and debit cards will be charged a small service fee), certified cheque or money order,
    E-Transfer from Canadian Banks.
  • Check in 4:00 p.m. Check out 11:00 a.m. (unless other arrangements have been made)
